We rely on primary sources: IRS publications, forms and tax topics, Social Security Administration releases, Bureau of Labor Statistics data and OPM guidance. Other sites appear only as context, and are labeled.

Updates

Tax numbers change every year. We review the calculators when the IRS or SSA publishes new figures, and each guide shows its last update date.

Use of AI

AI tools help draft and review text. Nothing is published until the numbers and rules have been checked against the source and against the calculator library.

Corrections

When we find an error, we fix the guide or the calculator and update the date on the page.
