About Rate Sheet

Rate Sheet is a set of calculators and plain guides for US freelancers and independent contractors. The goal is simple: help you put a price on your time that covers taxes, expenses and the weeks you do not bill.

How we work

Every tax figure comes from a primary source such as IRS.gov, SSA.gov, BLS.gov or OPM.gov, and the guides link to it. The calculators run on a small, tested library. Each function is checked against cases worked out by hand before it goes live.

We use AI tools to help draft and edit. Every rule, number and worked example is checked against the official source before publication. The Rate Sheet Editorial Team is responsible for the content.

What we are not

We are not a tax preparer, accountant or law firm. Results are estimates for planning. For your own return, talk to a CPA, an enrolled agent or the IRS.
